Use Case :
Introduction
Indomaret, a mini-market franchise under PT Indomarco Prismatama, is one of the subsidiaries of the Salim Group that has been established since 1988. Indomaret is a pioneer in the franchise store business and one of the largest in Indonesia, adopting the convenience store business model. This business model allows Indomaret to sell a variety of primary and daily necessities.
Based on data in August 2023, Indomaret has 22,077 stores, making it easily accessible in residential areas, offices, and public facilities. Most merchandise supplies for all branches come from 42 Indomaret distribution centers, offering more than 5,000 types of products.
Indomaret has a vision to 'become a national asset in the form of a franchise retail network that excels in global competition,' with the motto 'easy and economical.' Therefore, to support the realization and expansion of this vision, Indomaret collaborates with BRIAPI to simplify the payment mechanism for their customers, including the implementation of the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) payment.
Challenges
In line with its vision to become a superior franchise in the global competition, Indomaret certainly needs to enhance customer satisfaction services. In the current digital era, customers tend to desire fast and convenient services, especially in terms of transactions. This condition aligns with the goal that is adopted by Indomaret. Ideally, the easier the services provided to customers, the more it will help Indomaret expand its market in Indonesia.
However, improving customer satisfaction is not easy, as it requires a lengthy and continuous process. Additionally, efforts to enhance customer satisfaction need to be accompanied by the introduction of easy and fast payment mechanisms. Moreover, with the current widespread presence of Indomaret outlets across Indonesia, collaboration with BRIAPI in open API services is expected to help Indomaret streamline the payment mechanism for customer transactions at each of its outlets
Solution
Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) is a payment method based on consolidating various Quick Response (QR) codes from different Payment System Service Providers (PJSP) into a centralized QR Code. With this payment standardization, all transactions of Bank or Non-Bank Applications could be conducted easily, quickly, and with ensured security.
QRIS is one of the payment methods available in BRImo, which currently has around 30 million active users. This number could provide significant support for the frequency of retail transactions in Indonesia. Aligned with Indomaret vision, which has more than 22,000 outlets, this collaboration could offer ease of payment methods, especially to Indomaret customers actively using BRImo. Moreover, this collaboration is expected to have a domino effect, evenly increasing financial literacy in Indonesian society.
With this collaboration, BRI and Indomaret are committed to continuing their partnership with other interesting programs to enhance the value of using BRImo as a payment method for Indonesian people. The collaboration is also anticipated to have a significant and positive impact on the community's economy
This collaboration also presents various attractive programs that customers could take advantage of, one of which is providing promotions for customers using QRIS BRImo payments. This promotion is also aligned with the 128th anniversary of BRI. This promotion is expected to attract public interest in conducting transactions at Indomaret using QRIS BRImo
Conclusion
BRIAPI is committed to continually supporting and prioritizing a customer-centric business approach, and it will continue to initiate collaborations with numerous merchants in Indonesia. This effort is expected to help merchants expand their payment method in each of their businesses, including Indomaret, which currently has more than 22,000 outlets spread across Indonesia.
The collaboration between BRIAPI and these merchants is also part of BRI's strategy to engage in partnerships that can positively impact the economy, enabling BRI to contribute in achieving financial inclusion in Indonesia.
